Description Richard Prins 2011-07-03 14:24:50 UTC
It seems the option "mediaplayer" in the tools menu in writer was removed. However, it is still possible to open the mediaplayer using the sounds gallery. If you want to close the player, it seems the only way is to open impress and close it in tools - mediaplayer there. This is very user unfriendly and is spent quite a while looking for a way to do this.

NOT reproducible with a self created WRITER document containing a mp3 and "LibreOffice 3.4.1RC1 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO340m1 (Build:103)]". The Media Player Toolbar appears when a sound is selected and disappears if no sound is selected.

@reporter:
May I ask you to read hints on <http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport> carefully?
Then please:
- Write a meaningful Summary
- Attach a sample document
- Attach screenshots with comments (you can add information using LibO DRAW
  and then attach your screenshot with comments as PDF) if necessary
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
  mouse click how to reproduce your problem
- add information
  -- what exactly is unexpected
  -- and why do you believe it's unexpected
  -- concerning your PC
  -- concerning your OS
  -- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language)
  –- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
  -- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
  -- everything else crossing your mind after you read a.m. URL

Can you please file Bug reports with status UNCONFIRMED if your are not absolutely sure that you contributed all required background information and that the problem will be reproducible with information you can provide?
Thank you!

Screenshot, that's the problem?
Comment 3 Richard Prins 2011-07-04 09:07:30 UTC
@Bielefield
Yes that's exactly what I mean. Thanks for making the screenshot. So the problem is that you can't close it unless you open Impress and click tools > media player (when you open/close the mediaplayer, it's opened/close in all applications)
Or is there a way to close this in writer? Shouldn't closing it be easier anyway, not involving any menus?

So [Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.4.1RC1 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO340m1 (Build:103)]". Now I have 1 Writer document where I can't get away that media player, but in other WRITER documents I can't get the media player to the screen.

You have tried double clicking an audio file in the gallery?

Since all new unconfirmed bugs start in state UNCONFIRMED now and old unconfirmed bugs were moved to NEEDINFO with a explanatory comment, all bugs promoted above those bug states to NEW and later are automatically confirmed making the CONFIRMED whiteboard status redundant. Thus it will be removed.
