Created attachment 50157 [details] Example presentation Currently the "Next Slide" preview in Impress does not support animations. Here's an example * Slide 1 shows a logo. * Slide 2 is split up on 5 text pieces - each text-piece as a custom animation, so only 1 text-piece is added to the slide-show every time the user presses "Next" * Slide 3 shows a logo again, and some contact info. The CURRENT preview with Impress: * When slide 1 is shown, the "Next Slide" preview shows slide 2, with ALL the 5 text-pieces. * When slide 2 is shown, and the 1st text-piece is shown the "Next Slide" preview shows slide 3 (showing the contact info) * When slide 2 is shown, and the 2nd text-piece is shown the "Next Slide" preview shows slide 3 (showing the contact info) * When slide 2 is shown, and the 3rd text-piece is shown the "Next Slide" preview shows slide 3 (showing the contact info) * When slide 2 is shown, and the 4th text-piece is shown the "Next Slide" preview shows slide 3 (showing the contact info) * When slide 2 is shown, and the 5th text-piece is shown the "Next Slide" preview shows slide 3 (showing the contact info) I would suggest this instead: * When slide 1 is shown, the "Next Slide" preview should render Slide 2, with the 1st text-piece. * When slide 2 is shown (And showing the 1st text-piece), the "Next Slide" preview should render Slide 2, with the 2nd text-piece. * When slide 2 is shown (And showing the 2nd text-piece), the "Next Slide" preview should render Slide 2, with the 3rd text-piece. * When slide 2 is shown (And showing the 3rd text-piece), the "Next Slide" preview should render Slide 2, with the 4th text-piece. * When slide 2 is shown (And showing the 4th text-piece), the "Next Slide" preview should render Slide 2, with the 5th text-piece. * When slide 2 is shown (And showing the 5th text-piece), the "Next Slide" preview should render Slide 3 (showing the contact info) This will enable the user to see how the slide will look, when "Next" is pressed. This makes more sense in my opinion!

This enhancement is still valid. All info required is in comment #1. LibreOffice is currently unable to handle animations in previews.
Okay, status set to NEW
I think the main idea is same with Bug 65457 which is in progress. Please comment on that bug either. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 65457 ***
