Description Cor Nouws 2011-12-14 06:40:19 UTC
Since some time the Navigator works as a list, i.e: when I type 'a', it tries to go to an entry in the list starting with an 'a'. Which is great.

Nasty side effect: with the focus in the Navigator, Ctrl-W does not close the document any more...

Possibly ans easy hack too?

On Click F5 again the Navigator window will be closed. Do we need Ctrl-W

It's common behaviour in a zillion applications that Ctrl-W closes the window. It's ugly to break that, IMNSHO ;-)

And of course I mean the document window, not the Navigator :-)

Adding keyword 'bibisectRequest' to see whether this regression is already present in the oldest build of bibisect-43all repository or not.
In case it's already present, change 'bibisectRequest' to 'preBibisect'.
Otherwise, change 'bibisectRequest' to 'bibisected' and add a comment with the output from 'git bisect log'

Works for me 5.4 RC, Ctrl + W closes the actual document.

Really ? It does not work for me with LO 5.4.0.1.0+ build at home under Ubuntu 16.04 x86-64.

I mean, you should check your ubuntu-shortcuts, there could be the problem. I had had a similar problem with inkscape in debian - conflict of shortcuts - system x application.

What kind of conflict? ctrl+W is a standard shortcut which works in almost every applications to close the current window. It works in LO, except in the case where the focus is in the navigator.
Steps to reproduce:
- close LO if opened
- open a new empty text document
- activate the sidebar
- click on the navigator icon in the sidebar
- click on the entry Table (for example) in the navigator
- ctrl+W
--> actual behavior: does nothing
--> expected behavior: close the current (empty text document) window and return to the startcenter.

The problem is more general than only ctrl+W, for example ctrl+Q does not work too. In fact it seems that the "prefix" ctrl is ignored in the navigator. Indeed ctrl+S acts the same way as typing S only, it jumps to the first entry starting with the S character (sections in French). Idem with ctrl+C.
