LibO on Windows XP. You can assign a hyperlink to a cell using Insert->Hyperlink. So far, very good. However: 1. Calc provides no way to edit such a hyperlink. The only way to change an existing hyperlink is to insert a new one from scratch. 2. Calc's method for deleting a hyperlink leaves a lot to be desired. It can be done through the 'Clear direct formatting' command, which removes a lot else along with the hyperlink. It is also hardly an intuitive command to use when you want to achieve this. I would suggest that we need a Format->Hyperlink menu option. The dialog that would be displayed from this would allow the hyperlink to be edited, and would contain an option to delete the hyperlink.
I've checked this in LibO Calc 3.4.5 and I can say that editing a hyperlink is very easy: select the cell containing the hyperlink and invoke Insert -> Hyperlink (as you did to create it). If you have formatted the cell after inserting a hyperlink and then delete the hyperlink by simply pressing the Delete key while the cell is selected, you delete only the cell content (the hyperlink) actually, not the cell formatting -- this applies generally to all cell contents. Press the Backspace key instead while the cell is selected -- you get a dialogue where you can choose what to delete.
@ Ed Thanks for new idea for improvement 1. see comment 1 2. place cursor into cell and delete link as character Problem is another: impossible to find, how to edit Hyperlinks. Users usually look for editing functions in menu "Edit". IMHO it mostly UI problem. In context menu "Edit hyperlink" also not appears. IMHO menu Edit already overloaded by items. Not much sense to increase it. But context menu currently is very small. Item "Edit hyperlink" should added there
This one is more or less a DUP of "Bug 41543 - Mentioned Menu item 'Edit - Hyperlink' does not exist", I can't imagine why the menu Item we have in Writder and Draw is not required in Spreadsheet. @reporter: Please feel free to reopen this Bug if you find evidence that we have an independent issue here. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 41543 ***
