Description dmoyne 2012-01-10 04:16:15 UTC
I am using a french setting and I am using a lot LibreOffice to process spanish language ; each time I have to use an accentuated characters of course not present on the layout of my azerty keyboard I have for the time being to select from main menu "Insertion/special caraters..." and then select the appropriate characters from the proposed display of characters ; once done for one particular character the window desapear ; besides when reopening it maybe neccesary to reposition the set of caracters by using the vertical slider ; this is not at all very practical neither efficient.

2 posibilities :

(1) I propose with the layout of special caracters a way to maintain the window open for further selection of special characters.
(2) I propose to give acces to the display of a keyboard layout where the user can position its desired association special characters - keys with on a default layout initially proposed (an extra keyboard on screen) for continuous selection of characters.

Of course the idea to change te default language to spanish for example in KDE with a choice of a spanish keyboard is unrealistic.

Regards.

In KDE language and keyboard layout adjusted in completely different places. Adding keyboard layout causes no problem. We can also assign short-cuts to layouts
