Screenshot of upgrade dialog

This has happened twice, once after upgrading to 3.5.0rc2 and once after upgrading to 3.5.0rc3.

When clicking on the "check for upgrades" menu item, the upgrade dialog pops up and stays open forever.
It does not show an upgrade percentage, but the "%PERCENT%" word. Pause, Resume and Cancel buttons are visible but not responding (but they do not have a clear "disabled" look either), but the Close button works

ps: After closing the dialog and LO, and restarting it, the dialog seems to be working ok.

OS: win 7 64bit

Interesting, this may be a transient problem. I don't see the progress bar at all, maybe my internet connection is very fast, and I don't have to wait for the result. I convert this to an EasyHack, someone needs to understand the underlying code and prevent displaying %PERCENT% before that string is initialized.

See http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/search?q=RID_UPDATE_STR_PERCENT&project=core&defs=&refs=&path=&hist=

German version of the same problem

This occurred after updating 3.5.4 to the latest 3.5.5 on a German Vista PC.
After closing the endless window, LibreOffice showed the icon on the top right that is displayed when there is an update available. After closing and re-opening the application, the icon was gone and the bug did not show up anymore. Strange...
Comment 4 alfambra 2012-08-27 07:55:04 UTC
LibreOffice 3.6.0.4, Windows XP SP3, Spanish version, has the same problem.

Exactly same problem, like tDen: "After closing the endless window, LibreOffice showed the icon on the top right [...] After closing and re-opening the application, the icon was gone and the bug did not show up anymore".

Hi Alfambra,
the same problem came back when I today updated from 3.5.xxx to Version 3.6.5.2 (Build ID: 5b93205) (German version).
The workaround from last time worked again...

Is it still happen on 3.6.6.2 or 4.0.4.2 ?

I can't reproduce similar issue (Bug 50421) on LO 4.0.4.2 (Win7 32bit).
Comment 8 Björn Michaelsen 2013-10-04 18:46:44 UTC
adding LibreOffice developer list as CC to unresolved EasyHacks for better visibility.

see e.g. http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/minutes-of-ESC-call-td4076214.html for details
Comment 9 Rachit Gupta 2013-12-02 17:59:02 UTC
Can't reproduce the bug in Ubuntu 13.10 GNOME, LibreOfficeDev 4.3
Comment 10 Marcos Souza 2013-12-15 11:10:39 UTC
So, as we are not support 3.6 anymore, can we close this bug?

Remove LibreOffice Dev List from CC on EasyHacks
(curtailing excessive email to list)
