Created attachment 61109 [details] Screen shot of what it should look like. I am using Windows 7 x64, Libreoffice 3.5.3. I created a Impress document where I set the Footer of the Master to have a font of Stencil. Edit Master. The footer has 4 lines, all centered. The first line is set in STENCIL font, 10 point. The second, third, and forth line are set in Times New Roman, 10.5 point. In addition, the Third and Forth line has the Character > Scaling (Scaling Width) set to 110%. Close Master. Save the document. Now, open up the Impress document, and you will find that the Footer has lost its formatting. This is a showstopper for me.
Workaround: If you save it into .opd format, it seems to keep it settings. ALSO: Please consider adding a STATUS in BUGZILLA that allows for a setting of "Workaround" so that if a workaround is found, that it is easily visible for all testers and Dev.
(In reply to comment #1) > Workaround: > > If you save it into .opd format, it seems to keep it settings. So you saved your slideshow in MS-Powerpoint format ? Which kind ? ppt or pptx ? Please attach a document showing the problem. Best regards. JBF
My apologies for the omission. I have LibreOffice automatically saving to Office format. So for this scenario, it was set to save as PPT. I also tested PPS and Office Open XML PPTX formats which also did not work.
Created attachment 61189 [details] Document where Footer has lost its formating Be sure to see the previous attachment of what the footer SHOULD look like (see JPG file https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=61109). :-)
This is an Impress issue, therefore set the 'Component' field accordingly. This allows us to remove 'Impress:' from the Summary field.
Confirmed. I modified the master slide of your ppt file (font size 12), saved the file as odp => OK ; saved again as ppt => formatting are lost. Workaround in you don't use animation, sound or video in slideshow : work in OpenDocument format (.odp) and, when finished, export and send the slideshow in PDF. Keep always the original document in OpenDocument Format (ODF). Side note: OpenDocument is the native format of LibreOffice, working in MSO format forces LibO to import from and export to foreign format on each read and save of the file. So less performance and more problems. Best regards. JBF

Confirmed. I had done exactly that (saved as OPD then covert to PDF) earlier today and it kept the formatting, pictures (JPG) and also the hyperlinks (which is very good news). PDF looked exactly like the OPD file (filesize was about 30% smaller). Please let me know when a fix is available. Would love to regression test it.

Confirmed with: - Version: 4.4.1.0.0+ Build ID: f3ea88ef4431541ef85a26412b71e0e29b5cc529 TinderBox: Win-x86@51-TDF, Branch:libreoffice-4-4, Time: 2015-01-09_11:06:04 Locale: fr_FR - Version: 4.3.6.1 Build ID: 9629686a67dd1f357477c13325e45a66f3452bb9 - OOo 3.2.0 => change version to "Inherited from OOo". Format is correctly saved: if you open your file with MS-PowerPoint, footer is correctly formated. It is when LibO opens file that format is lost. Same problem apply to Slide number and Date and Time fields. => Change Summary to: FILEOPEN: Incorrect Footer, Slide number and Date/Time format in PPT file
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.0.5 or 5.1.0) https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa Thank you for your help! -- The LibreOffice QA Team This NEW Message was generated on: 2016-02-21
