Created attachment 61733 [details] LibreOffice Base 3.5.3.2 error with Java and creating, viewing tables First installed latest Java from Oracle website, (jre-7u4-windows-i586.exe). Then installed LibreOffice 3.5.3.2. In LibreOffice, I explicitly selected the installed Java version: Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Java Use a Java environment is checked Oracle Corporation Java 1.7.0_04 selected When clicking on the Table icon on the left side, I get the following error: LibreOffice requires a Java runtime environment (JRE) to perform this task. The selected JRE is defective. Please select another version or install a new JRE and select it under Tools - Options - LibreOffice - Java. The next error dialog that appears says: The connection to the data source "New Database" could not be estabilished. No Java installation could be found. Please check your installation. I checked through LibreOffice, bugzilla, and other forums for the issue. I found a couple of threads where users didn't have a problem or resolved the problem with Java 1.7. I tried but to no avail. Java 6 does seem to work as some suggested to revert to. Per LibreOffice website, I thought LibreOffice now supports Java 1.7? Is this a bug? I get this error on a Windows platform installed on a VirtualBox virtual disk. Memory allocated: 1280 MB, 31 GB virtual drive with 12 GB to spare. Laptop is Dell Latitude D630. Thanks, Karl d.
