Problem description: When opening a writer document in preview mode, the menubar is visible. It was'nt in previous versions. Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0
The document is opened via dcom and the parameter "preview" was passed. Normally, the document is opened without menu and toolbars and readonly. In 3.5.4RC1, the document is readonly but the menubar and the toolbar from an addon are visible.
Hi. Thank you for submitting a bug report. I am trying to understand what your issue is. When you say that you open a document in "preview mode", do you mean that you open Writer, go to File -> Open. Then you go to File -> Page Preview? -Brenda
The document was open with these parameters MakePropertyValue('Preview',true); MakePropertyValue('ReadOnly',true); I see it as a bug because in older versions the menubar was not visible. But as all menubar fonctions are disabled, it has no consequences for the utilisation of the program.
From what I gather, somewhere along the way (probably Version 3.6), it was decided to make the main menu bar visible. My reference is a discussion in the UX-Advise thread. The topic of that discussion is deciding what is the best approach and what kind of functionality is needed for the page preview. I will close this as an enhancement request, because it is not a bug, it involves changing a current feature. Here is my reference to the discussion: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Libreoffice-ux-advise-Disabling-file-opening-and-saving-in-print-preview-mode-td3987093.html#a3988327
(This is an automated message.) LibreOffice development currently prioritizes bugs with the so called MAB (most annoying bugs) -- as this bug has not run through that process (including writing a short rationale for this bug being a candidate and other who are watching the tracker bug silently approving that rationale etc.) its priority is set to high. Note this is effectively no change in the urgency assigned to this bug, as we are currently not making a difference between high and highest and severity is untouched. You can find out more about MABs and how the process works by contacting libreoffice qa on irc: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa The QA wiki page also gives you hints on how to get in contact with the team (if IRC fails you, your next best choice is the mailing list): https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA
Changing priority back to 'medium' since the number of duplicates is lower than 5
