Description junk_2010 2012-05-21 14:11:48 UTC
This bug is split out from bug 49046.

In LibreOffice 3.5.2, for a docx file on both Mac OSX 10.6 and Ubuntu 12.04, save to pdf has missing table borders
The docx file example is attachment 60429 [details]
Attachment 60431 [details] shows a pdf of how the docx file looked in Word 2007
Attachment 60434 [details] and attachment 60435 [details] are screenshots of how the import document looked in Mac OSX. The table borders can be seen.
Attachment 60437 [details] shows a pdf of how the docx file looked after export from LibreOffice.

An experiment with the equivalent doc file, attachment 60428 [details], did correctly display the table borders when imported and they were also present when saved as a pdf file. See attachment 60436 [details].

All tests done on MacOS X 10.6.8 German UI:

* REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.4.4, German langpack installed. Therefore I change the 'Version' field back to 3.4.4 (the version field should contain the earliest version in which the bug is known to exist). The bug may be even older.

* REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.4.6, German langpack installed.

* REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.5.4.1 (Build-ID: 7306755-f4f605c-738527d-1cf4bc1-9930dc8), German langpack installed.

And I would even say that the table border is not only missing in the PDF export: even in LibreOffice itself, the table from the .docx file does not have a border! Of course, LibreOffice shows a (grey) border line, and the Table Format dialog says "0.05pt" border width; but the grey border is just displayed to make editing the table easier, and the "0.05pt" border width is just the default setting; in reality, there is no real border at all.

But NO LONGER REPRODUCIBLE in LOdev version 3.6.0alpha0+ (Build ID: f8e94ec; installation file: master~2012-05-21_00.57.17_LibO-Dev_3.6.0alpha0_MacOS_x86_install_en-US.dmg), US English langpack installed, on MacOS X 10.6.8 German.

Good news! This fix will soon become available with LibreOffice 3.6.0, which will be based on the current Master, of course.

Therefore I change the 'Status' field again, this time to RESOLVED/FIXED (maybe
RESOLVED/WORKSFORME would be more appropriate, but this issue seems to be
really 'fixed' in the 3.6 development process, therefore I use FIXED).

Anybody, feel free to re-open this bug report if the issue is still/again reproducible for you in a new Master build or in the upcoming LibreOffice 3.6 or newer.

@junk_2010:
I am sorry for the work reporting this bug separately has caused for you! When you reported it as a part of bug 49046 first, I tested the issue with a Master build, too, and it was still present, if I remember correctly. So this bug seems to have been fixed by the way by the fix for another bug in between ...

This time really changing the status, of course ;-)
