This bug is split out from bug 49046. In LibreOffice 3.5.2, for both doc and docx files, on both Mac OSX 10.6 and Ubuntu 12.04, the documents no longer fit the single page they did in Word 2007 on Windows 7. The doc file example is attachment 60428 [details] The docx file example is attachment 60429 [details] Attachment 60430 [details] shows a pdf of how the doc file looked in Word 2007 Attachment 60436 [details] shows a pdf of how the doc file looks in LibreOffice Attachment 60431 [details] shows a pdf of how the docx file looked in Word 2007 Attachment 60437 [details] shows a pdf of how the docx file looks in LibreOffice
REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.5.4.1 (Build-ID: 7306755-f4f605c-738527d-1cf4bc1-9930dc), German langpack installed, on MacOS X 10.6.8 German. The vertical spacing is just 'looser' in LibreOffice, especially the lists use more interlinear spacing than in MS Office. Please note: all necessary fonts (Cambria, Calibri) are installed, therefore this is not a font issue.
But this problem seems fixed or at least improved in the current Master build: with LOdev version 3.6.0alpha0+ (Build ID: f8e94ec; installation file: master~2012-05-21_00.57.17_LibO-Dev_3.6.0alpha0_MacOS_x86_install_en-US.dmg), again on MacOS X 10.6.8, the spacing matches the original (MS Office) spacing much better, and the complete text fits on one single page again. I will attach two PDF files showing the progress. This fix will soon become available with LibreOffice 3.6.0, which will be based on the current Master, of course. Therefore changing the 'Status' field again, this time to RESOLVED/FIXED (maybe RESOLVED/WORKSFORME would be more appropriate, but this issue seems to be really 'fixed' in the 3.6 development process, therefore I use FIXED). Please note: There are still some minor/other issues visible in my PDF files, especially the bullets (wrong shape) and and the missing underline of the title in the .doc file, but these are separate issues for which separate bug reports exists.
