attached is a file showing a problem with an image

Problem description: 
When pasting images copied from the web, Writer won't display them, only a placeholder with the address of the image.
Also speed and performance slow down so Writer becomes impossible to use.
I tried editing preferences in Tools to let the software use more memory for images, but very little improvement.

How do you "copy from the Web"?

Are your pictures linked to the original website? Goto Edit > Links and look at that list.

Are you still online, when you see the placeholders?

Do you see the placeholder always or are at least some images shown?
