When a line, shape, or picture is animated with Wipe effect (and others), if the Direction is changed from "From bottom," any Speed changes will be lost when the slide is copied or the presentation is saved. To duplicate the problem: 1. In a new presentation, use the Polygon tool to draw a single horizontal line in a blank slide. 2. With the line selected, open the Custom Animation region of the Tasks pane, then click the Add button. In the Custom Animation window, select Wipe on the Entrance tab as the animation type, then choose Slow from the Speed dropdown list. Click OK. 3. Under Effect Wipe, change the Direction to "From left." Verify that the Speed is still Slow. 4. Click on the slide in the Slide Pane, press Ctrl-C, then press Ctrl-V to copy it. Click on the new slide. 5. In the Tasks pane, click on the line in the list under Effect Wipe. Notice that the Speed is now Very fast. *ERROR* (Back in the original slide, the Speed is still Slow.) 6. Save the presentation, then close it. Open it again. Look at the animation speed of the line in the first slide. It has changed to Very fast. *ERROR* Variations: The error also happens for directional effects other than Wipe, including Peek In and Fly In. The error also happens for shapes, for pictures, for text, and for grouped objects. The error also happens if the slide is duplicated (Insert > Duplicate Slide) rather than copied. The critical element seems to be that the direction is changed from its default (From bottom). When that happens, it seems that the speed is reset to Very Fast, but that is not reflected in the UI. As far as I can tell, there is no way to "fix" the original slide, other than to close and reopen the presentation. The copied slide, on the other hand, can be fixed just by changing the Speed to Slow.
I should have noted that the original slide (before saving), which still claims to have a speed of Slow, actually displays its animation very fast. Thus when the slide is copied, or the presentation is saved, and the Speed is changed to Very Fast, that is a correct representation of the animation speed. It's the word Slow on the original slide that's wrong, and the fact that it can't be changed.
I have retested this in 3.5.5.3 under Windows, and the problem still remains.
This problem still exists in 3.6.3.2 (Build ID: 58f22d5), under Win 7 Pro (v6.1.7601).

I have retested this with Version 4.4.1.2 (Build ID: 45e2de17089c24a1fa810c8f975a7171ba4cd432) under Win 7 Pro (v6.1.7601) and the problem still persists.
** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.0.5 or 5.1.2 https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System Please DO NOT - Update the version field - Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) - Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa Thank you for your help! -- The LibreOffice QA Team This NEW Message was generated on: 2016-04-16
I have retested this with version 5.1.2.2 (Build ID: d3bf12ecb743fc0d20e0be0c58ca359301eb705f) under Win 7 Pro (v6.1.7601) and the problem still persists. The behavior is exactly the same as described in Comment 1, including the variations listed there.
I have retested this with version 5.2.2.2, and it's now fixed, perhaps as part of the UI change in custom animation. Thanks.
