Out of the three Drag Modes available in the Navigator, only the "Insert as Hyperlink" mode works. The other two modes ("Insert as link" and "Insert as copy") don't work at all with headings and bookmarks. * In the "Insert as a link" mode, nothing happens at all when I drag-n-drop headings or bookmarks. * In the "insert as copy" mode, when I drag-n-drop headings or bookmarks, the text around the drop-spot moves aside and a large blank space is created. But I cannot see a copy of the heading or bookmark at that spot. BTW it is not clear what is the difference between a "link" and a "hyperlink".
NOT reproducible with "LibreOffice 3.6.1.1 German UI/Locale [Build-ID: 4db6344] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) ... My test with attached Sample for Sections: I dragged and dropped the section in the documents below the headings on page 2, modified the Drag Mode (in context menu on Navigator pane) before every drag 1. Insert As Hyperlink As expected a hyperlink to Section on page 1 will be created 2. Insert as Link As expected a copy with contents linked to Section on page 1 will be created If you modify contents in section on page 2 and then update with menu 'Tools -> Update -> All', the modified contents will appear in new section under "Insert as Link" 3. Insert as Copy An independent copy of the section will be created So that works fine. Concerning the same proceeding for Bookmarks and Headings the results indeed seem a little worrying, but I have absolute no experience with dragging from Navigator, so I can't tell what should be expected. But it's definitively no "Does not work at all", so I close this one as WFM @Reporter: Please see my general comment in Bug 53921 @reporter: Please feel free to reopen this bug if you find out that the problem still exists with LibreOffice 3.6.1.1 or later and if you can contribute requested additional information due to <http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport> (especially BugReport Details)! Pleas contribute information what you expect, why you expect that (cite Help or other documentation) and what is different in your observations!

Well, it worked as expected in a later version for me also. However, IMHO we should NOT close bugs as "WFM" when a (much) LATER version works. In this case, an earlier version of LibreOffice DID have the issue. Somehow, it stopped being a problem without any RECORDED change in code, or even any regression testing effort. The inference is, someone changed the code and accidentally solved the problem. And such changes are not getting trapped in automated tests. That needs looked into. Thanks.
