Description markus0803 2012-07-29 07:27:32 UTC
In LibreOffice Calc I generated a chart. I let the sub title totally empty. The chart was displayed correctly (that is without sub title) in LibO Calc. Then I copied the chart object and pasted it in LibreOffice Draw (in order to export it as JPEG). In LibO Draw (and the exported JPEG) there was the text 'sub title' displayed below the main title. I then put a space in the sub title field in the original chart in LibO Calc. Now the text 'sub title' was gone in the LibO Draw copy, but there was an empty unused space between the main title and the actual chart.

Obviously a default text 'sub title' is carried in the copied object, if sub title is empty, but if it is empty it should not be in the copied object at all.

I do not reproduce with LO 3.6.0.4 nor LO 3.5.5.3 under Ubuntu 11.10

Please attach a document which show the problem.

Best regards. JBF

Spread sheet containing charts

See first chart (on sheet 2 'Tabelle2'). It does not contain a 'sub-title'

Copied and pasted chart as image

Copied chart from above spread sheet; pasted in LibO drawing and now it contains a sub-title named 'sub-title', although there is none in the spread sheet; then save the drawing as ODG for uploading it here.

Regards, Markus.

May be the Java version is more important than whether I'm using Win XP and you are using Ubuntu. My Java Runtime is Java 6, Update 33 from Oracle (former Sun).

I can confirm the bug; everytime I delete the subtitles, they return after save.
Comment 6 Jean-Baptiste Faure 2013-01-25 21:08:13 UTC
Please, do not change the version number, which is the oldest where the bug has been experienced.

You can Export as graphic directly in Calc (right click on chart).

Checked with:
LO 4.0.1.2
Build ID: own W7 debug build
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit

Could not reproduce. No "sub-title" when copied to Draw.

This seems to be another bug. Please file a separate bug report.

Same problem here. Libreoffice 3 Veersion 3.5.4.2 ID 350m1 (Build:2) - Linux Debian

I cannot confirm this bug for GNU/Linux so it may be an old Windows-only issue. I have tested the attachments under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 running:

- v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6
- v3.4.6.2 OOO340m1 Build: 602
- v3.5.7.2 Build ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b
- v3.6.7.2 Build ID: e183d5b
- v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24
- v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a

In each case I opened the XLS from comment #2 in Calc and pasted it into Draw from the same version. The chart is pasted as expected (without a sub-title) under each of the listed versions.

In comment #9 several above the lines fields appear to have been erroneously changed:

- Architecture from All to x86 (IA32)
- Platform from Windows (All) to Linux (All)[1]
- Version from 3.5.5.3 to 3.5.4

Given the erroneous nature of comment #9 (it was indicated in comment #8 that the issue of the sub-title returning as described in comment #5 is a SEPARATE issue) I am changing all these fields back to their original values.

[1] This in particular would seem spurious as the ODG attachment was indeed created under LO v3.5 for Windows.
Comment 11 A (Andy) 2014-03-22 10:47:02 UTC
For me this also not reproducible with LO 4.2.2.1 (Win 8.1), but I experienced a problem with the axes that had not been copied correctly (I will open another bug report for this issue).

@Markus: Can you still reproduce this issue with the latest release of LO or can we close this issue?
Comment 12 markus0803 2014-03-22 19:14:39 UTC
For the next time I'll not be at that computer where I have the original spread sheet. I'll check whether the newest suggested version of Libre Office still has the problem or not some time later.

Regards, Markus.
Comment 13 markus0803 2014-06-01 15:01:55 UTC
I tried it again with the same file in LibO 4.2
It does not occur anymore.
So from my point of view the bug is fixed.

Regards,
Markus.
