Description fenglich 2012-08-19 10:02:53 UTC
Problem description:

Sometimes when a word completion suggestion is done, it is appended with irrelevant. It can be like this: the user writes "subj" and libre office auto completes with "subjectivity, religion" even though that has never occurred in the text (however, the word religion has). Perhaps it's a string pool without terminated strings or something like that.

Steps to reproduce:

I don't have a way to reproduce this. I'll comment if I find a way. It occurs often however.

Comment 2 fenglich 2012-09-04 21:15:39 UTC
It might be this is triggered by delimiters. When typing "suc" I get the completion "success.pdf" (was about to write "such", which is used elsewhere in the document).
Comment 3 fenglich 2012-09-04 21:24:42 UTC
(In reply to comment #2)

Well, "success.pdf" occurs in the document in a URL. The URL is "http://example.com/dir/foo_success.pdf", in a footnote. I'd say that's a weird auto completion.
Comment 4 bfoman (inactive) 2013-03-13 12:58:13 UTC
Is it general problem or just happens with the specific document? Is this still an issue in the latest stable release?
Comment 5 Cor Nouws 2013-03-30 21:51:36 UTC
I see this behaviour too.
Looks the same as isse 61923 ?
Comment 6 Bert 2013-05-27 12:09:20 UTC
Word completion stopped working for me long ago, still broken in v4.0.3.3.
The completion appears completely out of context and the suggestion is ridiculous.
See the screenshot capture.
This persists when I upgrade (like from 3.6 to 4.0).

Hi Bert,
thanks for the screen print.

Pls do not set the version field to the latest version. It must reflect the first version that has the bug (as explained here and there...)
Cheers,

@mstahl:
while you are at it: maybe related/same as bug 61923 ?

This is not the same issue. The behaviour you are illustrating has been fixed. LO4.0.4 is w/o this bug. (Another related issue remains though. See Bug 61923)

Anyway, like to ask fenglich@fastmail.fm if he/she is still noticing such a problem. If not, please close this bug.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (4.4.1 or later)
    https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System

Please DO NOT

    Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3)

http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo";
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

Thank you for your help!
