Word document which demonstrates fault
Embedded graphics charts within a word document (.doc) are not displayed correctly.
Axis numbers and labels, and titles, are crudely displayed but no data nor chart definition lines
Interestingly a very old copy of Neo Office displays document correctly.
Example document attached.
Reproducable Mac OSX 10.8.1; LO 188.8.131.52 (build-id: 4db6344);
Also tested with Word for Mac 2011; charts displayed correctly in word. See screenshots

Screenshot: Not reproducible with LibO 3.4.0
NOT reproducible with LibO 220.127.116.11 on Win XP, so really a Mac OS X only issue.
* LibreOffice 18.104.22.168
* LibreOffice 22.214.171.124
* LibreOffice 3.4.6
* LibreOffice 3.3.0
all on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel)
But -- surprise! -- NOT reproducible with
* LibreOffice 3.4.0
on the same machine. Strange! So this bug was fixed in the 3.4 development process, but introduced again between 3.4.0 and 3.4.6? Or is this just a conincidence? But I don’t see how ...

I currently have 184.108.40.206 installed.
There's no improvement in display of the graphics in the .doc attached to the initial bug report.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.
There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.
If you have time, please do the following:
Test to see if the bug is still present on a currently supported version of LibreOffice (5.0.4 or later)
If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the version of LibreOffice and your operating system, and any changes you see in the bug behavior
the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a short comment that includes your version of LibreOffice and Operating System
Please DO NOT
Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case)
If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3)
2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo";
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add "regression" to keyword
Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=libreoffice-qa

This improved a lot with the harfbuzz implementation in bug 89870, although the left axis title is still clipped

Image extracted from document, which illustrate clipping of left axis of the chart
The charts look nice with the new EMF renderer, which will be part of 6.0. Tested using LO 6.0 daily build (2017-09-28_03:27:43, 0fa21336428b286d69684cfbb7b845f123657041).
