Problem description: : If I enter a formula in Calc and it includes commas in the numbers, Calc just puts “Err:509” in the cell. In MS Excel, it brings up a warning and offers to correct it by removing the commas, only requiring clicking “ok”. Expected behavior: Calc should have a similar time-saving feature. The problem is common when copying and pasting lots of comma containing numbers from other sources (i.e. PDFs) into Calc formulas, and an Excel like quick fix option instead of just an error would save much time.
What are your locale settings?. Menu/Tools/Options/language settings Can you attach a file sample with data or a link, to try the copy - paste.
reproducible with LO 4.0.2.2 (Win7 Home, 64bit) If you have English settings then type in a cell for instance "=9,5*2" and with non-English settings type "=9.5*2". In these cases you would get an error message ("#REF!"), but no hint message to correct your formula. marked as enhancement request
