Description MrB 2012-11-25 18:09:36 UTC
Somehow media player is opened within all documents (even my old word docs.) when opened in Libre Office 3.6.3.2 and I can find no option to turn it off or remove it from onscreen.

I have even looked online and it appears prior versions had options - can you please give the end user control over the product use?

This should be a toggle on/off feature in my opinion. Let me decide if I want to see it on every text document, spreadsheet, presentation page or database. Default should be OFF, please.

Media players are a nice EXTRA feature but not essential to the majority of work performed by the end user. I estimate less than 1% usage by most users.

Thanks for listening.

Does this open always for all files? Also can you try running LibreOffice with a brand new LO user profile (see http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)?
Please attach a screenshot if this is still an issue in the latest stable release.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open the gallery (Tools -> Gallery)
2. Open a sound file in "Sounds"
3. Close the gallery

Result: media player stays open and can't be closed (Screenshot attached).

LibreOffice 4.0.3.3 (Build ID: 0eaa50a932c8f2199a615e1eb30f7ac74279539) on OSX 10.8.4.

Creating a new UserProfile works.

How to close the Media Player:

"Undock the media player: drag it (in the marked gray area) with the mouse to the right. Then you can hit the 'Close' button."

Okay, this solves it. Nevertheless, a close button would probably be more user-friendly.

Please drop me from the email listing or close it out completely.

That was 7 months ago – mine is fine now.

Thanks
