Description krzychu271 2013-01-18 13:03:14 UTC
Hello.

When i wrote document on writer(libre office) and add header or footer i cannot back changes. I submitted memory to 300 changes on options, but its not working(with added header). Its helpful to see a changes on document using ctr+y, cry+z. Thanks for a good work.

Hi. Are you saying that you made a document, added a header and footer, and then proceeded to make changes? And after that, you were not able to save the changes? I would need additional info before I could confirm this bug.

If you go to https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport#Steps_for_reporting_a_bug_with_BugZilla
you can find the sort of information we need to help determine a bug. For example, a summary about what you expect and what is happening, and steps on how to reproduce the bug. If you provide the information, you can change the bug status to UNCONFIRMED.

Thank you!

Hi.
1. I made document on " LibreOffice Writer"
2. On body wrote some words like "qwertyuiop"
3. And now add header with some words like "asdfghjkll"
4. Then I can't go back to words "qwertyuiop" on body using "ctr+z" only "asdfghjkll" will removed. After this(blank header) I can exit document without question to save. Program think "document is blank" but it isn't because I still see words "qwertyuiop" on body.

Someone who want go back to earlier version body after adding header cant change using (ctr+z)

When i begin wrote document on adding a header issue is gone, bad things will happen when I forget about it.

It sounds like there are two issues going on here, both of which I have confirmed. I believe they might need separate bug reports, though. Let me think how to approach this.

Issue 1: After adding text to the main portion to a new document, you can add a header, add text to this, and close the document without being prompted to save.

Issue 2: Ctrl-Z does not work for previous changes to main body once you are inside a header or footer.

Platform: Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS x64
Version: Version 4.0.1.2 (Build ID: 84102822e3d61eb989ddd325abf1ac077904985)

Issue 2- About the change history limits in the Header/ Footer, is a duplicate of Bug 46561. Changing the title of this bug to reflect that.

Issue 1- If you could resubmit a bug report with just this one, and I would say it is Critical- Medium- No prompt to save, data is lost.

Here are the steps:

1. Open a new document in Writer.
2. Type something in the body of the document: abcd.
3. Insert -> Header.
4. Type something in the Header: qrst
5. Close document.

Actual Result: No prompt to save. Data is lost. Upon starting LibreOffice again, it does not ask to start recovery of unsaved document.

Expected Result: A prompt to save, so that user has that option.

Include your version and platform, too. Thank you.
