Example of the problem

Problem description:
If I open a spreadsheet from Excel 2010 and there are some formulas made in formula editor (not the once that excel uses for calculations but just to show what excel is calculating to others) for example fractions, subscripts of some unknowns etc doesnt show as it is supposed to for example "Fcd" (CD is lower subscript) is showed as: "f_cd" - just like that.

In writer all the formulas seem to be right...

I am using Version 4.0.0.3 (Build ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89) portable
Operating System: Windows 7
Version: unspecified

Screenshot result

Hi Honza, thanks for reporting.

I can not reproduce it.
Win7x64 Ultimate.
Version 4.0.0.3 (Build ID: 7545bee9c2a0782548772a21bc84a9dcc583b89)

Attached screenshoot about how it looks.

Have you installed the calibri font?.
Have you tried to reset the user profile?, sometimes solved strange issues.

This specific issue is not reproducible with LO 4.0.1.2 (Win7 Home, 64bit), but comparing MSO 2007 and LO shows, that LO does not correctly import this file (borders, alignment, etc.).

Hello Honza,

I reproduce the screenshot result of Mariosv with LO 4.0.2.1 and your screenshot comparison of LO with LO 4.0.3.0+ (Build ID: 64a3b58a9ace11c6a01708e8de14712e27e0204).
The main issue is the enormus line height of Cambria Math font, used by formula editor, which allows only seven lines per page.
A second issue is what is imported. This is the script for MS equation editor, not the equation itself, which is not the same than the one used by LO.
Some changes have to be made to get the correct result.

Have a nice day,

Jacques Guilleron

Dear Honza,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team
