example of problems

Impress files, created under 3.6.5.2 including many custom annimations, do not function according to the settings.
Lines show when not required, and lines do not show when required.
The bottom lines do show, even when they should show on click, or after previous.
It appears that if a line is moving to a multiline paragraph, things do present it self more.
It is also not easy to create custom anymations, because the selected items sometimes are not selected, or something else is selected.
did try different masters and layouts, but that does not solve the problem.

All of our presentation material does not work in 4.0 impress custom animations looks all right in the UI for setting it up, but execute total randomly, typically though with the last bits being shown first. We a downgrading to 3.6 again

I would fill a bug and notice this one, 60571, and 60446, if not others, were already described.
I also have presentations made with LO 3.6.5.2 and previous ones, and they don work well now. Be with with windows 7 64bits or linux Debian 64, Wheezy, kernel 3.2.0-3-rt-amd64.

It appears that the effects do work with the pictures, though. But, with text, they fail.
I've noticed this: if I had, say, 5 [or N] paragraphs (all included in a single effect, as "intensify", which I use a lot), then the first 5 lines in the slide, using the same effect, work, but the others don't: they show up with the slide, and they remain until the next slide shows.

See attached presentation, please. It tries to show and describe the problems at once.

This is a showstopper bug, confirmed on both Linux and OSX. In a presentation where (for instance) there are three bullet points, each of which has a custom animation of "Appear" on click, when you run the presentation in 4.0, the following happens:

 - The third bullet point is visible initially, when it shouldn't be.

 - The custom animations for the first and second work as expected.

If the third bullet-point has multiple lines, sometimes only the last line is visible.

I've tried numerous workarounds for this, creating bullet points and assigning animations in various orders, but nothing works. Even adding a final invisible bullet point won't solve the problem. If you use images instead of text elements, the problem does not appear. I've inspected the source code of documents which exhibit the problem, and it seems absolutely fine; it appears to be the version 4 rendering engine which is at fault. A document created in 4.0, which shows the problem in 4.0, seems to work fine when opened in 3.6.

This seems very urgent to me. It makes Impress absolutely useless for simple presentations.

Hello,

Those issues have been fixed by resolution of bug 59629. This can be verified by loading daily build LO 4.0.2.0+.
Can you try It ?

Thanks

I'm actually on my way to a conference where I have to give presentations, so I can't test it right now -- don't want to replace a known-good setup with a daily build! But I do have a Windows partition where I might be able to do a quick test once I get to my destination, and after Saturday I'll be able to do a proper test on Linux.

Cheers,
Martin

I've just confirmed that the bug is fixed in 4.0.2.0 (tested the 64-bit version on Ubuntu 12.04). Thanks!
