Just select the Format > Page menu option and the Writer crashes. The same thing happens if I right-click anywhere inside the document and select the "Page..." context menu option. In both cases, Writer vanishes without leaving any error message. If I launch LibreOffice again, the recovery dialog pops up and shows the "Not recovered yet" status for the document. It lets me recover the document. However, any latest changes are lost. I am unable to change the page format. (e.g. landscape <--> portrait, etc). This happens on two different PCs having different 32 bit Windows 7 flavors and completely different hardware (motherboard+CPU+chipset). Also see bug#65851.
I tested each case and the bugs do not appear for me. If this is still a bug for you please change status to UNCONFIRMED and provide more info if possible. I tested using: Version: 4.1.0.0.beta2 Build ID: 33224f4f11a05cfad2249e812fcc2975fbb61f6 Win 8 (64 bit)
I am following instructions for Bug#65851, in which the QA person has advised me to remove all addons first, clean up the registry and then do a clean install. Probably this will resolve all these issues. Will revert after re-install. Thanks...
reopen as it worked for me until last update to 4.2.1 on Fedora 20 - i686 now > Open Document > Format page > System crash
tried the LibreOffice 4.2.1 supplied rpms and the crash is confirmed installed the LibreOffice 4.1.5 supplied rpms and the process works > Open Document > Format page > dialogue opens and changes can be made
This is strange. NoRepro:4.2.1.1:OSX, so Linux and Windows only? Steve: are you running LO 4.2.1.1? Please also try resetting your user profile and let us know if that helps: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile Does that improve anything?
was running LO 4.1 as supplied by Fedora 20 worked updated to LO 4.2.1 as supplied by Fedora 20 writer crashed on format>page deleted LO and reinstalled with LO 4.2.1 from LO as rpms writer crashed on format>page deleted LO and reinstalled with LO 4.1.5 from LO as rpms writer works no changes to user profile
Steve: but perhaps there's some kind of incompatibility bug between LO profile and 4.2. Could you rename your LO directory profile and give a try to last 4.2 available for Fedora or 4.2.4 from LO website?
