Description Richard Keech 2013-07-16 04:09:32 UTC
Upon upgrading to 4.1.0.1 (Fedora 19) I find that the bibliography database tool is broken. I find the records all look to be jumbled. All the records are present, but the fields are messed up. For example if select one record at random, I find that it has a URL in the author field, and the publisher and title from another record.

Two new records created since the upgrade are intact and complete.

As a work around I'm probably going to have to remove and re-create all the older records.

do you mean the bibliography database, when you press <F4> in Writer and select "Bibliography - Tables - biblio"?

If I interpret you right above, I cannot confirm it. Or I don't understand you right here ... :( Could you give us a more detailed description, please? Something like "Open Writer, click <F4>..." ... ;)

How did you install your 4.1.0.1 version? Via "rpm -Uvh..."? Or did you follow the instruction to install it in parallel?

Sorry to hear ... :( I have tested it with LO Version: 4.1.0.3
Build ID: 0f08a823567f802c29cbaf2b327db19aaf72016 with installed Germnaophone lang- as well as helppack under Debian Testing AMD64. Maybe you could try it with a newer version of LO as well?
Sorry for the inconvenience
Thomas.

I selected "Tools" -> "Bibliography database" and it opens in a new window.

OK.

0. I upgrade my system from Fedora 18 with Libre Office 3.6.6 to Fedora 19 with Libre Office 4.1.0.1.

1. I open the Bibliography database (see above) which opens a new window.

2. I see multiple records, as expected. These were created prior to upgrading LibreOffice.

3. I notice that the most visible fields in the 'table' view (ie top half of the screen) have the same identical, and incorrect value, corresponding to one of the fields of the most recently entered record.

4. I select one of the records, and the fields show in the bottom half of the screen. They are the incorrect values.

5a. I test the bibliography by opening a new text document

5b. I insert a bibliography entry "Insert" -> "Indexes and Tables" -> "Bibliography entry" -> <choose entry from dropdown corresponding the one viewed at step 4, above>. It adds

5c. I insert a new reference section:

"Insert" -> "Indexes and Tables" -> "Indexes and Tables" -> <choose "Bibliography" from the "Type" pulldown".

This creates the citation corresponding to 5b, above, with the bogus values.

6. I repeat step 5, above, but this time referring to a record created since the upgrade of LibreOffice. This creates a citation with all the expected and correct values.
