On this website are two files, a PPT and a PPTX: http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~driscoll/software/ooorg-pptx/index.html Direct links PPT: http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~driscoll/software/ooorg-pptx/01.%20introduction.ppt PPTX: http://pages.cs.wisc.edu/~driscoll/software/ooorg-pptx/01.introduction.pptx The PPT imports fine, but the PPTX version is very broken as the text disappears from the shapes.
Created attachment 86174 [details] The one slide version
Attaching a one-slide version; oddly the text in the right hand side box appears to be there almost underneath the shape ;-) - you can see it only when you select. Something rather odd here.
(This is an automated message.) Setting priority to highest as this is a 4.0 MAB. This is part of an effort to make the importance of MAB reflected in priority too.
Created attachment 93032 [details] Original one-slide PPT and LibO-converted PPTX tested under Windows 7 64 bit with LibO 4.1.4.2 If I isolate a single PPT slide from the original PPT file in the 1st link at Comment 0 and I convert in PPTX I see no loss of text in the shapes... only bullets appear in the text outside shapes. see my attached zip. If I download the PPTX from the 2nd link I see missing text inside shapes. So I wonder which program was used to create that PPTX... does it shows correctly in MS PowerPoint?
Moving to mab4.1 (Bug 60270) because: - 4.0 reached EOL (End Of Life) - bug confirmed in later version
retested (In reply to comment #4) > Created attachment 93032 [details] > Original one-slide PPT and LibO-converted PPTX > > tested under Windows 7 64 bit with LibO 4.1.4.2 > If I isolate a single PPT slide from the original PPT file in the 1st link > at Comment 0 and I convert in PPTX I see no loss of text in the shapes... > only bullets appear in the text outside shapes. see my attached zip. now bullets are gone and the .pptx created by 4.2.3.3 looks exactly the same as the original .ppt --> improvement > If I download the PPTX from the 2nd link I see missing text inside shapes. that file has indeed .pot extension, however when I load it in 4.2.3.3 the text is still hidden. saving as .pptx doesn't change anything. saving it as .ppt causes loss of images. sice this last part of the bug is still reproducible in 4.2.x I move this report to the mab4.2 list since 4.1.x reached end of life
moving to mab4.3 since 4.3.x is END OF LIFE and bug is still reproducible with LibO 4.3.3 and 4.4.0 beta1
(In reply to tommy27 from comment #7) > .... since 4.3.x is END OF LIFE ... I meant 4.2.x
Observation: 1. After import file in LO, Select shape by double tap and move shape from original position to different position. 2. You will able to see text inside shape, which is behind moved shape. 3. Shape gets duplicated while import and behind shape has a text. Version: 4.5.0.0.alpha0+
Created attachment 115541 [details] 3D format
Created attachment 115542 [details] Screenshot
Created attachment 115543 [details] screenshot
Observations : 1) In attached file '3D format' there is grouped shape with 3D formatting.(check screenshot) 2)When open this .xlsx in impress, The 3D formatting is not imported for grouped shape. 3) XML of 3D format: <a:scene3d> <a:camera prst="isometricLeftDown"> <a:rot lat="2100000" lon="1800000" rev="0"/> </a:camera> <a:lightRig rig="threePt" dir="t"> <a:rot lat="0" lon="0" rev="1800000"/> </a:lightRig> </a:scene3d>

Hi Rohit, I'm setting this ticket back to NEW as it has been inactive for more than 3 months. Feel free to assign it back to you if you're still working on this. Regards
retested with 5.3.4.2 and recent 6.0.0.0 alpha daily build. PPTX attachment 86174 [details] is still incorrectly loaded by LibO with missing text in the shapes (which is oddly hidden underneath the shape as pointed out by Micheal Meeks in comment 2) I confirm that there's no issue if the PPTX is created by LibO from the original PPT file (see attachment 93032 [details] )

Yes, the bug is still present in 6.1.2.1.
Still exists in version 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Already in 3.3.0 Version: 6.4.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: e1b51d4588b4b39592bb94dd5bb90de5e04d061e CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win; TinderBox: Win-x86_64@62-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2019-09-23_09:16:11 Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded
These are grouped shapes being imported with incorrect Z-order: - Right click - Enter Group - Right click - Arrange - Send to Back : shape with text becomes visible.
Steps to reproduce the top secret: 1) Insert a shape into a new pptx file and type something into it. 2) Insert another shape to cover the previous one. 3) Group the two shapes. 4) Select the groupshape -> FormatShape -> TextOptions -> TextEffects -> Enable the "keep text flat" option. 5) Save to pptx. Open in Impress. -> The text won't be there... Enjoy.

And the problem: the dir="t" tag handling is missing: ... <p:grpSpPr> ... <a:scene3d> <a:camera prst="perspectiveFront"/> <a:lightRig rig="threePt" dir="t"/> </a:scene3d> ... Hopefully this will solve this issue. :)
