Problem description: Clicking "Help" brings an instantaneous response of "Failed to connect" Steps to reproduce: 1. ....Click on Libre Office icon 2. ....Click on "Help" 3. ....Select "Check for updates" Current behaviour:Does not connect to LO update centre. It never ever has. Previously, I have had to uninstall LO, download the latest version and then install it. I do not mind doing this for a major upgrade (if that is really necessary) but is this long-winded process really necessary for updates? I have never ever got "Check for updates" to work, even before OO.org morphed into LO Expected behavior: Operating System: Windows 7 Version: 4.0.0.3 release
Hello Chris, could you please compare that between slow & fast connection (perhaps between gprs/2g/hsdpa & broadband cable) ? Then report your results here.
Chris, I cannot reproduce this problem. Could you please download from here http://www.libreoffice.org/download/ the latest stable release. Then, to check if the update-check works, go to Help > Check for updates. You should see a window popping up. In case of the latest stable, telling you, that you are on the latest release. Please re-open if it still fails.
Thanks, I did that, and now it connects. Perfect. Thanks for the feedback. It's always a good idea to try and see if the latest LO release fixes your problem. If you reply to bugs, please use your browser, otherwise the bug might get cluttered too much. Thanks and now enjoy working updates with LO! :)
