Create any document with automated (!) paragraph numbering such as 1. X 1.1 X 1.2 X 1.2.1 X 1.2.2 X and search for a numbering you see on the screen - Writer doesn't find it.
Hi, You could maybe use the Navigator (F5) ?
Created attachment 87173 [details] Test doc In the attached document, there is a numbered list, a field and a table with a formula. Trying to search for numbers 1-6 (numbering and field) gives no matches, while 7 is found in table.
This is a valid enhancement request. While it's possible to use Navigator to handle numbered lists, it's impossible to do with fields. And it's not intuitive to get no results searching for a text visible on screen. While the searched text can be created on-demand (and thus may not be present in the ODT), it should be present in memory representation of the document, and thus should be searchable. NEW - reproducible with 3.3.0.4-4.1.2.3 and AOO 4.0 under Win7x64 enhancement normal - it would enhance consistency in UI (different dynamic content entities such as fields, numberings will behave the same as formulas in tables)

Especially the missing search for Bibliography references is annoying in large documents like the ODF specification. For other fields, the Edit Field dialog allows to traverse the fields. Such workaround does not exists for Bibliography references.
