Description Richard Marchessault 2013-10-07 14:21:58 UTC
I am using LibreOffice Impress Version: 4.1.1.2 I have used this suite of product for years. In recent months I have had issues with saving of files created with Impress. It does not happen all the time and I cannot find any reason why it should happen more with some files than with others. What happens is that I have a presentation that I have created or modified that I wish to change, or in some cases I simply have opened an existing presentation and I want to save it under a different name. The save process starts but it does not complete. Impress becomes unresponsive. I've waited over 5 minutes for the process to complete but it doesn't. At that point, I have to terminate Impress. When I reload it offers to recover the original file. Sometimes it will recover it, sometimes not. It's really a pain. This was not happening to me earlier in the year but has happened repeatedly lately. I believe it is a bug that has developed with version 4 of the program.

try upgrading to 4.1.2.3 and/or resetting your user profile

Following tommy27 suggestion, please do it with 4.1.3.2 as that release is now available. If it doesn't resolve the isssue, please attach your file if possible.

Then mark this bug UNCONFIRMED

It's a clone of Bug 71216, which has more information.

I reset the user profile, opened an existing presentation in Impress, and then did a "Save As" to create a copy for modification. Impress did the save but hung up and became unresponsive. I had to terminate it from the Windows Task Manager.
