Description leeksoup 2013-10-19 23:36:39 UTC
Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a pptx presentation that uses custom master slides.
2. Save it to ODF format.
3. Load the ODF version if needed.

Current behavior:
The original master slides are changed. BG changes to iridescent green / purple. Slides become difficult to read, depending on text colors used.

Expected behavior:
Original master slides retained.

Operating System: Fedora
Version: 3.6.7.2 release

Can you please provide a test document so this can be tested against and subsequently be confirmed. If your document contains sensitive data, please clear that or replace it with random information.

A step-by-step description of how to reproduce the issue is most helpful and will help to speed up the processing of this problem a lot.

Setting to NEEDINFO until more detail is provided.

After providing the requested info, please reset this bug to UNCONFIRMED. Thanks :)

Test case after saving from Impress into ODP format

OK, I now have accessed to a MS office install and made a test case.

To test, do as in the original post.
1. Open the test case pptx file (This is a test.pptx) in Impress
2. Save it to ODF format
3. File -> Reload OR
   Close the document and open "This is a test.odp" that was saved in #2

What I see is (as in ODP attached) that the master slides have all kind of new colors but original master slide formatting is gone.

One more thing: I now see that when I open the PPTX in Impress, and look at the master slides in the right, they are already messed up even before save but just on open. But the actual slides are ok till save is done.

bug confirmed on 4.1.4.2 under Win7 64bit.
the slides turn all black after saving as ODP and reloading

it affects all LibO releases and AOO as well.
interestingly the loss of backgroud has a different effect.

LibO 3.3.3 --> slides turns black
LibO 4.1.4  --> black
LibO 4.2.1+ --> light blue
AOO 4.0.0   --> azure

I add Impress expert to CC list.
