Description kivi 2013-12-17 20:28:51 UTC
When in pie chart there are many components of data the Data Labels get stitched and one over others. It makes the chart look unacceptable.
The only well working positioning of the Data Labels happen when use the option 'Labels placement - best fit' in Libre Office_3.6.6.2 Calc.

Even in this version these labels are not positioned as expected in other positioning options will be used.
Unfortunately this problem exists in all later versions including Libre Office 4.1.3.2

One simple solution of this problem could be if will be possible to move around the labels and position them freely by hand. This is possible in Microsoft Office and it solves such problems there. Unfortunately in Libre Office it is not possible to reposition the Data Labels after the chart is created.

My suggestions are:
1. To make possible for the users to freely move the position of the Data Labels in charts.
2. Also it will be great if developers could make the option 'Labels placement - best fit' work again like in the Libre Office_3.6.6.2 Calc.

I am adding a zip file including some examples with this problem.

I have tested it again in LibreOffice 5.2.6
Labels still have the same behaviour. In complex charts they are overlapping each other.

So I can confirm that nothing has changed here till now.

Hi!

I am facing same issue with data labels. It can't be manually adjusted using mouse in any type of chart. The overlapping of data labels creates mess in the chart.

I am working on LibreOffice 5.3.2.2 version installed on Windows 10 64-bit.

Please help in sorting this at earliest.

Thanks in advance!

Another vote for this enhancement.
A little step , but important in our struggle against another spreadsheet ("our" means "my compagny" where some people struggle for a comeback of this other spreadsheet) ;-)

Changing priority back to 'medium' since the number of duplicates is lower than 5
