Description James B. Byrne 2013-12-24 15:24:18 UTC
When editing a new unsaved document LO will become unresponsive after several minutes. This can only be cure by spam clicking on the file menu and then spam clicking on the save_as sub-item and saving the file. After the file is saved then the program returns to normal responsiveness.

The auto-save setting for this installation is every 15 minutes and the save document as well option is selected. The delay in the onset of the symptom appears related to the auto-save interval and the problem may be that LibreOffice is attempting to save the document with a valid file name.

Also seen on Mac OS X Mavericks.

When I saw this bug, the blue Save bar at the bottom of the window constantly scrolled to about 95%. I agree that the lack of an actual filename (as the spreadsheet had never been saved) seems like a probable factor.

I also observed that there were some cells I could select while this was happening, and others that would seemingly ignore mouseclicks. These seemed to contain complex formatting and/or a mix of English and Asian characters, while the plainly-formatted cells with only English characters were responsive.

I was unable to close the window after several clicks on the Close widget, but eventually used the Window menu to close the window and discard the document.
