Problem description: When using LO 4.2.0.4 I was unable to copy and paste text from LO Writer document into the Gmail email main body when using Firefox. I could copy the text into the subject line, as well as the email To line, but not into the main body of the email itself. Other LO users had reported this problem and it had been given bug # 74949. Today I received a response from Bugzilla indicating that one of the users experiencing this problem had solved his problem with the "4.2.3 daily build" I must say though, that I don't have a clue about how to download or implement that. Surmising that the 4.2.3 daily build must be incorporated into a new ver of LO, I uninstalled 4.2.0.4 and just now installed LO 4.2.1.1. Unfortunately, in this ver at least, the problem still exists. I did try, per the experience of someone else reporting the same problem, to save my .doc file as .txt file, and then opened that with Notepad. This I was able to copy into the body of the Gmail email. This .txt file had to be opened in Notepad though and copied from there. If I tried copying from the LO Writer .txt file I could not copy it into the Gmail email. I am probably leaving out some important step. Thanks for your help Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a .doc file with LO Writer 2. Copy a portion of that into the body of a Gmail email when using Firefox 3. Save the same .doc file that was just created with LO Writer as a .txt file 4. Try copying text from that file into the body of the Gmail email 5. Open that LO .txt file with Notepad 6. Copy and paste that into the body of the Gmail email Current behavior: Nothing takes place at all when attempting to paste the copied .doc text. The same file saved as an LO .txt file also does not copy and paste. However, if I open the LO .txt file with Notepad, I can then copy and paste into the Gmail email Expected behavior: The text copied from a LO .doc file should be pastable into the Gmail email. Operating System: Windows (other) Version: 4.2.1.1 release
