odt file to reproduce the problem

Problem description:

Trying to print the attached document on the Printer (Bixolon oder Samsung) SRP-770II fails completely. The printer prints out just a blank label.

When printing, the prewiew looks strange as well. The "left" preview picture shows the document in landscape format, the lower right prewiew shows the correct document. Document preview from the menu shows a correct document also.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Try to print the attached document on the printer
2. ....
3. ....

Current behavior:

Prints blank label

Expected behavior:

Should print correctly

Operating System: Mac OS X
Version: 4.2.1.1 release
Last worked in: 4.1.3.2 release

Your document has a page style defined as landscape.

Please, ask for help using page styles on askLibO (http://ask.libreoffice.org) or on users mailing-list.

Closing as NotOurBug.

What do you mean by this?

Up to Version 4.1.3.2 LibreOffice printed that document correct.

On the given paper size 15cm x 10cm landscape the printer does only print an empty page. As I could print correctly with version 4.1.3.2 it is rather obvious that 4.2 introduced a new bug.

So I reopened the case. Please contact me directly if you need more details.

The printing dialog has a new option "Use only paper size from printer preferences" in tab "Options". Please check it and then try again.

Makes no difference, still prints only a blank page without any text on it.
Comment 5 michael 2014-08-06 19:03:18 UTC
I can confirm this issue with version 4.3.0.4
To print eStamps with my Brother QL-710 label printer I have create a landscape document. When I try to print it out, the content will rotate correctly 90 degrees but not the page itself. I tested several settings without any result.

Added some screen shoots

Guido, your screenshot shows a Brother printer. Is the problem only occurring since you changed printer ?

Alex,

maybe you are mixing some things up. my screenshot should show a bixolon / samsung printer. Michael has a brother printer and the same symptoms.

I did not change the printer but changed the software version of libre office, then this behaviour occured.

But if I can provide any further information, please ask.

Test document causes my Samsung CLX 3175 to jam
Comment 10 Alex Thurgood 2014-10-06 16:24:27 UTC
This is the same behaviour I've encountered since

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36799#c23

Comment 11 Alex Thurgood 2014-10-06 16:26:46 UTC
Note that the page definition of the test document is given as User defined - this is what is causing the print operation to fail in some way
Comment 12 Guido 2014-10-06 16:45:10 UTC
Well yes, that is the idea behind this.

This label printer (samsung) is used for UPS shipping labels and for part labels. The given label size is 10 x 15 cm and cannot changed. This paper size has to be defined.

Why you printer jams ... I do not know.
Comment 13 Guido 2014-10-06 16:47:23 UTC
My printer just prints out a blank label instead of a correctly printed one.
