Created attachment 95303 [details] 3 printscreens added together to illustrate the bug The problem-document originates from my (soon to be discard) old PC with Windows XP. It is Office '97 Excel file. I've converted lots-and-lots of excel sheets to .ods files and I'm realy enthousiastic about LibreOffice (Calc). Step 1. Opening my .ods file. No problem here. Step 2/printscreen 1. This document contains lots of hyperlinks as you can see. Step 3/printscreen 2. Clicking a cell results in a expected error. ("Expected", because my new Windows 8.1 computer has different path names.) Step 4/printscreen 3. Editing the hyperlink within the cell show an empty Hyperlink window.
Without a test file showing the problem, it is impossible to try to reproduce and fix the bug if one exists. Please, attach a test file without confidential data. Thank you for your understanding. Best regards. JBF
Created attachment 98843 [details] Microsoft Excel 97 Test Document As requested: a Microsoft Excel 97 Test Document
I've created and attached a new (=just made) "Test Document.xls" (in Microsoft Excel 97 SR-2 format). When I try to recreate my problem, I could not recreate it! If I now use the Hyperlink dialog, there is really a dialog! Just how it's supposed to work. In order to facilitate you in solving this bug, I've modified (=removed privacy information) the original document so you can see the problem for yourself. I've called it Original File Edited.xls I hope this is sufficient "proof".
Created attachment 98857 [details] The original MS Excel file in which the bug appeared.
Confirmed as NEW. Indeed, I reproduce the problem. I do not see a mean to modify the hyperlinks in your test file. The problem seems to be linked to the "Excel_BuilIn_Hyperlink" style. Best regards. JBF

Nothing changed with LO 5.1.2.0.0+ and master. Best regards. JBF
I've just now tested it again with the supplied "The original MS Excel file in which the bug appeared. / Original File Edited.xls" And the bug still exists. I'm using LO 5.1.0.3 on a Windows 8.1 machine.

What security vulnerabilities does sharing my spreadsheet make me vulnerable to please and is there a way of brainstorming on mitigating some of these?
(In reply to John Smith from comment #13) > What security vulnerabilities does sharing my spreadsheet make me vulnerable > to please and is there a way of brainstorming on mitigating some of these? I temporarily marked your attachments as obsolete. What plus does they bring to this bug report? Best regards. JBF

I've tested my-reported-bug again, as requested. The bug is still present. But to me - and perhaps to others - it is not really that important or inconvenient, since my bug-report is about "converting from MS Office '97 Excel" and all conversion issue's I once got, are since long manually resolved. Information from Help - About LibreOffice. Versie: 6.0.5.2 (x64) Build ID: 54c8cbb85f300ac59db32fe8a675ff7683cd5a16 CPU-threads: 8; Besturingssysteem: Windows 10.0; UI-render: GL; Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL); Calc: CL
I understand that bug is about "Editing the hyperlink within the cell show an empty Hyperlink window." That's true only if you edit within cell, without selecting hyperlinked text first. If you select hyperlinked text (keep in mind you may have multiple links within single cell), path is shown and can be edited. We may have ana issue that hyperlink should be picked without selecting text, but that's another issue- So I'll close this bug. Anyway, we have Bug 79972 I add to see also. Also numerical content like in the original here.
