Currently notes are automatically colored. It would be really nice if you could control what color your own comments are and then change other users comments if they add them.

Best way I think would be to:

1. Add an option in colors for comments that is titled something like "My User Comments" and allow selecting a color there.

2. For other users (and even your own as a secondary way) allow changing colors by clicking on the little arrow on the bottom of the note (that usually comes up with "delete note" and "delete all notes") and add another option that says "change color" and it would control all comments by that particular user

3. Lastly, maybe allow changing individual comments colors. This seems a bit much but since you can delete particular comments or all comments by a user, maybe independent control of colors isn't that big of a deal?

Sounds like a valid enhancement request. NEW

This comment isn't about the note color per se, but about the text background, but the same reasoning applies.

An especially desirable feature since today LibreOffice 4.4.5.2 decided my text background color on notes should be black (it was white before which was just ugly on the yellow note). So I have now black on black writing in my comment boxes.

I could change the text foreground color and get that readable, of course, but that's still annoying (and still ugly).

I'd add +1 case ...

  4. one user should be able to change his notes' color per DATE too...
by creating a NEW editing session, for example...
to which s/he could link a new color... and also, edit this color later, too...
this means, that the "user" (author) should be able create author1-sess1, author1-sess2, etc..

I don't understand why this wasn't mark a duplicate.
Instead of multiplying new bugs, I think that summary would be better in the original bug.
