On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources udpated today (037754fa9ecea1792e1a8f73b8b4cad4dac75ee0), I don't reproduce the crash (tested in with png file)

Just for information, I noticed these console logs:
warn:sfx.control:27376:1:sfx2/source/control/ctrlitem.cxx:43: SfxControllerItem: slot without ...Config-flag at SID 11116
warn:sfx.control:27376:1:sfx2/source/control/ctrlitem.cxx:43: SfxControllerItem: slot without ...Config-flag at SID 11117
warn:legacy.tools:27376:1:cui/source/tabpages/border.cxx:296: ColorTable not found!

Perhaps it depends on the type of image (png, jpg, etc.)?
Could you attach an image which makes LO crash?
