the error message in german

Problem description:

As mentioned in the subject title, i can't install libreoffice versions newer than 4.1.3 with the last failed try on versoin 4.2.4

I did the checksum test within 7zip but no error occured

Steps to reproduce:
1. installation stops when the stup tries to copy some files (at least it is telling me that)

Current behavior:

I have to stick with version 4.1.3, which is a little bit frustrating, because i want to be up to date.

Expected behavior:

i just want to install libreoffice

Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.2.4.2 release

Could you please check md5/sha checksums of your download?

Hello,
I installed version 4.3.1.2 without problems on win7. Please, could you test with newer version? Setting bug as needinfo, set as unconfirmed again if problem still occurs in newer version. Thank you.

Had same error upon trying to install 4.3.7 which was originally running. Now have no working LibreOffice!

Please

Download the files again (if you get the error twice, try another download mirror)
Confirm the checksum of the files

Never had this problem ever, and I install LibreOffice *every* *new* *release* on at least four Windws machines (from Vista to 8).

Please download the files again, check the md5/sha checksums of the downloaded files, and report back. Setting the status as NEEDINFO again.

I tried to install the latest version 5.0.1 even downloaded multiple times from different mirrors but gives the same error. I even tried to install still version 4.4.5 but same error arises.

> @Mike, I thought you could be interested in this issue...

No. The issue is strongly specific to some boxes, and not specific to installed software. The error is seen for any software (google for "error 1335 cab corrupt"), and attributed to multitude of problems ranging from broken downloads, to memory corruption, to antivirus intervention, and more. I don't believe we can call this a bug of LibreOffice, given that if our MSIs were broken, we would be overwhelmed with *millions* of failure reports.

In some cases, it could be a broken mirror (but not like reported in comment 8, where several mirrors were tried). In every case, it's helpful to mention exact mirror used for download, so that others could test that mirror and decide if that specific package on that specific mirror needs attention. Other from this, my take is NOTOURBUG.

@Daniel, which mirror did you use ?
Comment 18 Timur 2018-12-21 08:30:25 UTC
Since Daniel didn't respond, we may close this one.
I think we may add "Installation failure?" link to https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/ with an instruction to first check hash, sufficient space, download mirror, anti-virus.
Comment 19 Timur 2018-12-24 15:31:34 UTC
In See Also Bug 121749 issue was likely browser.
As Mike explained, it's mainly some other issue, not LO.

Just wanted to add that we have a FAQ on this [1], so if someone (infra?) wants, it could be used as the suggested link.
