When docx documents are created in MSWord and callouts are used, the callout properties are lost when opened with LibrOffice including latest beta. the attached document illustrates the problem. Compare the appearance in Word and Writer
Created attachment 99883 [details] Demonstration of electronic marking using MSOffice callouts. Not displayed correctly in writer
Confirmed in Linux Mint in the latest releases from 3.6 to 4.2 and 4.3 beta 1. The callout shape is being turned into a frame element [bug 79289]. What i did notice other than the callout shape issue when comparing Word 2007 to LibO 4.3 are: 1) the page size is larger 2) font styles are not retained, as the first page table should have headers with Calibri rather than Times New Roman. 3) the right 1/3rd of the page isnt light blue 4) shapes with no fill with check signs in them on page 2 are showing with white background [bug 79289] 5) layer arrangement of images, like on page 5, are skewed so images are appearing above shapes-turned-frames
Created attachment 99913 [details] pdf export from word 2007 (where it was created)
Created attachment 99914 [details] shows how the page content is aligned to the bottom left, the light blue column on the right (this could possibly be due to the comments), and font styles not being retained
Created attachment 99915 [details] shows an image appearing above shapes that have been turned into frames
