Sometimes the Show menuitem is enabled but has no function. To replicate: 1. Create new spreadsheet 2. Right click on Column B 3. Select 'Hide' menuitem 4. Right click on Column A 5. Select 'Show' menuitem 6. Notice nothing happens 7. Right click on Column C 8. Repeat steps 5-6 Either the 'Show' menuitem should be disabled when it does nothing, or preferably it should show a single hidden column/row when one is adjacent, and possibly show a dialog box when the function is ambiguous.
When column B is hided, only click on cloumn A or column C will not show column B. This is intended, and is documented on the online/offline help, see: https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Show >Either the 'Show' menuitem should be disabled when it does nothing, or preferably it should show a single hidden column/row when one is adjacent, and possibly show a dialog box when the function is ambiguous. A agree with your idea. Let's make this as a feature request.
Good idea. I also propose that we consider whether the functionality should be different. If a user hides a column/row with Hide, it seems like it would be logical that they then could immediately use Show to make it appear. The current implementation requires selecting at least two columns/rows to accomplish this (in most cases), which users may find confusing and frustrating.
