Steps: 1) Open Impress 2) Add a rectangle 3) open custom animation pane in sidebar 4) press add effect button 5) like okay button (notice that rectangle is still selected) 6) press remove effect button (notice that rectangle has lost selection) 7) add effect button acts like its still clickable, but when you click it, the button becomes dim Tested in master on Linux.
