Description Bruce Rhind 2014-09-08 08:19:31 UTC
When I click Help within Writer, it opens Firefox on a Help page which cannot be used because there are no links.

Provide a screenshot or at least a link to the page you ended up at.

I expected a hyperlink to Help but the expected location is inactive.

Bruce, did you install built-in help?

The download link is "Help for offline use" : http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-still/
Comment 4 Bruce Rhind 2014-09-08 14:36:22 UTC
Thanks for your advice about the Offline Help.
Comment 5 ign_christian 2014-09-08 14:45:17 UTC
So we can close this report. Please reopen & mark UNCONFIRMED if problem persists after installing offline help.
Comment 6 Jean-Baptiste Faure 2014-09-13 20:05:09 UTC
The described problem is about online help: https://help.libreoffice.org/Main_Page

Please, could you explain, what does not work?

Set status to NEEDINFO. Please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once you have provided requested informations. Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards. JBF

Comment 8 Jean-Baptiste Faure 2015-04-08 07:02:40 UTC
The issue is that the menu Help > LibreOffice Help does not start the help page of the current module (Writer, Calc, etc.) but the help on the help. It is inconsistent with the shortcut key F1 behavior which opens the help for the current module.
This problem is the same for the local built-i help and the web based help system. In the web based help system, you do not have a path to find the main help page (https://help.libreoffice.org/Main_Page).

Summary adapted and status set to NEW.

Best regards. JBF

Nothing changed in LO 5.1.4.0.0+ and master, both build at home under Ubuntu
16.04 x86-64.

Best regards. JBF
