Description llomb 2014-09-10 19:38:46 UTC
ciao a tutti,

sorry but my english is not so good...

Mi succede la stessa cosa che a saxer;
avevo la 4.1.3.2 e funzionava;

Italian->English translation

user on a WinXP SP3 computer said he installed LO 4.3.1.2 after unistalling 4.1.3.2

when he launches LO from the desktop icon, during the splash screen loading, around 50% of the progress bar, a popup message like in the subject line appears.

he heared about a similar problem that happened on Ubuntu because of issues of a ".lock" file

he deleted the LO folder under "Application Data" but that folder is recreated by LO subsequently.

@llomb
in the meantime I suggest you to uninstall LO 4.3.1 and install 4.2.6 which is a more stable release from this link: https://it.libreoffice.org/download/

tell us if you still have problems with the 4.2.6 version.

please also upload a screenshot of the error popup message

Similar Problem: error in synchronize

Similar error message in 4.3.1.2 having upgraded from 4.2.5 on Win XP final patched version.

Will revert to 4.2.5 until resolved

@Jeff
try 4.2.6 to see if the issue is limited to 4.3.x versions

http://www.winpenpack.com/main/download.php?view.1354

tell me if it has the same problem as the standard installation package.

I downloaded and installed the winpenpack version. I now wonder if the problem is CPU or other chipset related. This version seems to work OK on my Intel Atom N270 netbook, but still fails on the original system, AMD Athlon XP 2000+ desktop, with similar messages during first-time initialisation.

Having got past the initialisation on the Atom, it started OK on the Athlon, but then had a further error on closing a file.

This one is earlier than Bug 83886, but the later has a better description.
