Description Andrew Allcock 2014-10-03 09:10:25 UTC
A sound file inserted into a slide will not play. Encoundered sice upgrade to Ubuntu 14.04. It all used to work but doesn't now and editing a presentation which includes sound files makes the system run so slowly it is unuseable.
Comment 1 Andrew Allcock 2014-10-03 09:12:00 UTC
In presentations previously compiled the sound takes more than 12 seconds to play when it would previously play instantly.

Hi Andrew.. Please inform what version of LO you're using? From what source?
Same behavior after resetting user profile?

And please give exact step by step procedure to see the problem. Then change status back to UNCONFIRMED.

Comment 4 Andrew Allcock 2014-10-06 08:53:48 UTC
LO version is 4.2.6.3 downloaded with Ubuntu 14.04LTS during distribution upgrade. On attempting to edit a presentation containing sound files the screen also greys-out as if the programme is struggling for up to 20 seconds before selecting the slide to be edited.

Never had this problem with any previous version of LO or Open Office running on the same - or other - machines.
Comment 5 Skylar Iolta 2014-10-26 20:39:13 UTC
Reproduced on ubuntu 14.04.1.

Editing, importing or trying to start a slide with a sound clip causes the program to hang for at least 20 seconds.

Tested with both .WAV and .mp3 files, both less than 2mb in size.

Setting status to NEW.

Thanks!

Version: 4.2.6.3
Build ID: 420m0(Build:3)
OS: Ubuntu 14.04.1 x64
