A few entries in: i18npool/source/localedata/data/zh_CN.xml need to be improved to better fit the Simplified Chinese language. 1. The default date separater The default date separater should be "/" rather than the full-width "/". This is fixed in bug 84087. 2. Date format [YYYY"年"MMMD"日"] and [YYYY "年" MMM D "日"] are not useful at all. I suggest changing these two to [YYYY.MM.DD] and [YY.MM.DD]. (For example, many Chinese people uses "2014.11.06" or "14.11.06" format) 3. Months Below: <DefaultAbbrvName>一月</DefaultAbbrvName> <DefaultFullName>一月</DefaultFullName> ... One is abbreviation form, and the other one is full name. It's better to change the abbreviation form to "1月", "2月".... 4. TRUE/FALSE TRUE/FALSE are logical values, they'd better not be translated. 5. Quarter Abbreviation "2014年1季" (which means 2014 Q1) is not good Chinese wording. We'd better use "Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4" for the abbreviations.
I'll assign this to myself, and make a patch later.
Patch pending review for master: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/12284/ (This is my first patch sending from git :-) I am not planing to backport this to previous branches.
Congrats Kevin on your first patch.
