Reproduce: - start a blank impress file - open the template sidebar, take the 13th; this one opens shifted down - fill in the title here - change to 14th template: shifts back up, title is gone
When creating the reproduction steps it turned out the text doesn't go lost, but invisible because it's white (so no data loss, that's already a good point), it's merely a weird text frame shift down.
Are you referring to the master page templates? Please refer to them by name, not by 13th/14th. The name appears in the tooltip when hovering over the template. Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.
The 13th is Impress, the 14th is Alizarin. I tried it again, now this time Impress shows it shifted down, Alizarin shows it on top, going back Impress shows it on top as well with the second text frame still shifted down... Really weird...
Also when switching between Impress and Alizarin, first the header of Alizarin is black, switching to Focus and back, now Alizarin shows the header white...
Something is definitely freaky. Linux: I applied Impress, wrote a title, applied Alizarin - every other time the title was gone. I closed the file and started a new one every time. I did this maybe 6 times. With 4.5 I didn't get this problem, tried 5 times. Windows: 4.4 lost the title every time, tried 5 times. 4.5 lost the title after switch to Alizarin, when in Impress I accidentally hit return after writing something in the title and then hit backspace. I tried this several times and it always lost it. You marked this as a regression. Did it work ok for you before in some version? Just tested in 4.3.3.2 (Version that comes with Debian, Build ID: 430m0(Build:2)) and I couldn't reproduce the problem there: although the default templates in this version are different, it does show the newer ones as recently used, and applying from there works normally, no problems seen (except maybe that the Impress template shows the title on top like all others, and not on the side of the red bar, but no weird things happen). So yes, this is definitely a regression.

(In reply to Beluga from comment #5) > lost the title after switch to Alizarin, when in Impress I accidentally > hit return after writing something in the title and then hit backspace. I > tried this several times and it always lost it. Now I only have this problem. So: apply Impress, write something to title, return, backspace, click away to confirm. Apply Alizarin. Title lost. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to "inherited from OOo"; 4b.
