Pivot Table: Now you need to go one by one for update, and not an option for update all at once.

There is a lot of space available in the calc status bar.

Having it directly to select in the status bar, with an "All" option added to the list, like page styles.

With two options depending on clicking button:

- Right-click and select in the List+"All" for update the selected pivot table or All at once.

- Left-click and select in the list for select and go to the selected pivot table.

IMO it will be really productive in comparison with the actual situation, and a great difference over other applications, without compatibility issue.

The same can be applied to external link and database ranges.

Pivot table is really one of the more powerful tools in calc, and I think this will be an improvement for use it.

Why this bug (pivot tables in status bar) when you could have pivot tables in navigator (bug 89528)?

Hi @Rall, thanks for look at this.

because you can access without the navigator opened and there could be possible add the option for calculate "All" to list of PT, allow calculate all PT with a couple of clicks.

Sidebar open occupy a lot of space, what not is always nice working spreadsheets with a lot of data.

I forgot mention in my initial report, but having PT in the status bar is a way to make much more visible one of the best tools in calc. I can see in forums how many people try complicated ways to do things that can be made much more easily with Pivot tables.

The request in 89528, because don't seems fine that pivot table are not there.

I give this to the design team.

The use case is to refresh pivot tables in the active sheet as well all other. Your suggested solution is to add a dedicated section in the status bar with some special interactions. I don't think a control in the status bar makes sense just because there is enough space. And as raal pointed out we do have a list of sheets in the Navigator.

Anyway, the 'Refresh All' idea sounds not too reasonable to me. What you actually want to achieve is an always up-to-date pivot table. So my suggestion is to just always refresh when you enter the sheet. @UX: what speaks against this solution, @Tomaz: guess it's not a big deal to implement.

When you have several pivot tables on different sheets, you need to go one by one to update and you have not a way on the interface to locate them. Even the navigator don't show the pivot tables.

Maybe there are a mistake thinking pivot tables are always alone on one sheet, and not, they can be located anywhere, which is very usefull, making difficult to locate them.

If at least there was an option to Recalculate and update everything on the file:
Hard recalc
Pivot tables (pivot Charts)
Update links
Update dabase ranges.

Sorry but I think UX matter it's secondary here.

We talked about this request today in the design/UX meeting. Updating the pivot table may take a while on slow systems or in case of many data. So the automatic function is not good, though Excel has it optionally (the request is in bug 61793).
While 'Refresh All' is simple to introduce it doesn't solve the actual problem that you a) likely don't want to work on pivot tables that are not up-to-date and b) have no feedback that a refresh is needed. The recommendation is to show the status clearly, ideally with a progress and means to stop the processing that both are not possible yet (new ticket bug 109521).
Setting this ticket to WONTFIX as the suggested solution is suboptimal. You could do the trick with a macro, starting with advices from https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/46939/how-can-i-make-a-simple-macro-to-update-a-pivot-table-and-then-create-a-click-button/. Feel free to ask if you need help with that.

First, thanks by talk obout on the desing/UX meeting.

I was the one who answered in the thread of Ask., taken the answer from the AOo-en forum.

The new ticket IHMO doesn't deal the major issue, to locate every PT and go one by one for updating.

For example recently was implemented Pivot Charts having the same issue, good improvement but...

Really curious, Writer has an Update all while Calc not.

Sometimes I think that we lose ourselves in trifles and forget important things.

An Update all would be a warranty to be confident on the results, even hard recalc it's only on a shortcut, unknown to many users.

It's possible to do it with macros (I don't know why they are called so), sure, but it is not the right way.

In any case better forget it and lets every one solve their matters.

Meanwhile, we wonder why some much esteemed people resign?
