Description bordfeldt 2015-03-01 18:19:56 UTC
LO 4.4.1.2 on Xubuntu 14.04 64bit

If I use in impress in presentation mode the mouse pointer as pen, the pen is not visible, if the pen width is set to "very thin".

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new empty impress docuemnt.
2. Start the presentation mode.
3. In presentation mode choose mouse pointer as pen and set the pen width to "very thin"
4. The pen is not visible, only with a width of "thin" or more.

LO 4.4.1.2 on Windows 8.1

Using the mouse pointer as pen in presentation mode in impress doesn't work at all under windows. It shows nothing indifferent what color or pen width is selected.

No very thin or color problems here.

Buggy behaviour reproducible with LO 4.4.1.2. (Win 8.1), but different to the one reported here.

The pen is visible all the time if selected with a right mouse click the pen doesn't change if I select another colour or line thickness.
But the pen doesn't work as expected. It flickers very much if the mouse is moved and it is not possible to draw lines, because sometimes it draws a little bit a line, but mostly nothing at all happens.

@Bug Reporter and Beluga: Do you have the same?

Well I do get some flickering, but not as bad as you describe. It is a bit slow to update and mostly creates straight lines because of this.

Tested again with LO 4.4.1.2 on Windows 8.1:

I can confirm the mouse flickering. The mouse cursor changes perpetually between pen cursor and normal cursor. I think because of this is no drawing action.

Confirmed too. The pen is flickering and no or only part of a line is drawn

Tested on Win 8.1 & LO 4.4.1.2 in French

I tested it again with LO 5.1.0.1, Win 8.1. (compare with my old comment in no 3)

Results: The pen is further visible with the option Very Thin. But it has been improved, because the pen is no longer flickering. The only issue I experience is that the drawing has some "delay", because I have to wait a few moments until the drawed line stops at the the pen position.

Dear reporter, please check if the issue still exists with a current version of LibreOffice.
Comment 10 bordfeldt 2016-06-02 09:44:56 UTC
In LO 5.1.0.3 under Xubuntu 14.04 64 bit the problem still exists. In impress in presentation mode using the mouse pointer as pen, the pen is not visible, if the pen width is set to "very thin".

Very thin width pen during slideshow

Well, even if it's not invisible for me, it's still hardly visible, so I confirm the bug.

Uploading two images, one taken during, and another after the slide show, with very thin width (the trail is visible after presentation due to bug 99840). The width during presentation is much thinner, almost invisible compared to how it looks afterwards.

Images taken in LO 5.2 beta1/Ubuntu 15.10.

Ok, let's set to WFM.
