Description Ernesto Katzenstein 2015-03-10 06:22:01 UTC
When I open an existing document (Write) for the first time after opening Libre Office, the document opens in two copies, and the behavior of the cursor is not normal. Select works but is not shown on the screen - the cursor just moves.
Comment 1 Ernesto Katzenstein 2015-03-10 06:23:37 UTC
I mean the first document I open after starting Libre Office, not the first time I open this document.
Comment 2 Alex Thurgood 2015-03-10 13:46:20 UTC
Which version of LibreOffice ?

Is it particular to the document, or does it happen with any document ?

Setting to NEEDINFO pending requested information, please set to UNCONFIRMED when information has been provided.

Hi
I hade 4.2 and now 4.4.1.2. It is the same. That happens with all Write documents, but only the first document I open after starting the app. It is the same if I open LibreOffice first and then the document, or if I doubble click on the document and that starts the app.
I am almost sure that it happens just the first time I open Libre Office after starting the Mac. If I close LibreOffice and open it again, it will not happen.
best
Ernesto

I had this happen to me today, following a LO 5.0.3 crash (on Linux).
See https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96553
for a screen shot.

As I mentioned in the report of the crash:

When I started LO again, it warned (as usual) that all the backup files were missing (already reported). It recovered them from "original".
(See https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95591)

Worryingly, though, amongst the re-opened/recovered documents, I now have two copies of the same file: WildThing-CS.odt, same word and character count, one showing that it has been saved, one showing it has not. I'll attach a screenshot. I didn't think it was supposed to be possible to have one document open in two windows at the same time. Oh, and although one doc has the "Needs save" indicator, Undo is greyed out in its Edit menu.
Comment 6 Alex Thurgood 2015-12-21 09:55:23 UTC
@Ernesto :

Does this double file opening only occur after a previous crash of LO ?

I don't see this problem on current master or production release on OSX, so just trying to confirm the same scenario as outlined by Luke
