Description tom.hilinski 2015-04-29 15:46:30 UTC
Created attachment 115189 [details]
zip archive containing source ODT, "saved as" DOCX, and PNG screenshot.

When an ODT is "Saved As" 2013 DOCX format, the table of contents layout and format is different in the docx format compared to the original odt format.

Attached are the odt and docx files, and a screen shot of the 2 files.

Hi Tom,

Thanks - I confirm that the numbers of subsequent levels are indented, not left aligned.

Is not OK on 4.3.7

Hi,

Also having this problem in 4.4.3.2 Writer.

I have found at least 2 index/table format settings that do not persist across save/load when using .doc (MS2003) or .docx (MS2007) file formats.

  1. Protected against manual changes
      - gets unset by save/reload of a .doc file
      - seems ok in a .docx file

  2. Tab position relative to paragraph style indent
      - gets set by load of either .doc or .docx file
      - with a .docx file, is set always. can be turned off
temporarily but will be on again the next time the
        format dialog is opened.
      - doesn't seem to have any effect on a .doc file

Using a .doc file, tables of contents and indexes retain their formatting, but the settings in the format dialog are wrong. With .docx files, the formatting gets screwed up _and_ the settings in the dialog are wrong.
