this bug has apparently appeared running under linux and been resolved; i found it reported and resolved on the web. also i have checked on my ubuntu box and it does not happen there.

basically using the shift-pageUp or shift-pageDown key combinations to select large (multi-page) blocks of text does not work. the first time the pageUp or pageDown key is pressed the expected result of selecting a page of text is produced, other times it is not. holding down the pageUp/Down key also does not produce the expected result (though even if it did that would be hard to control).

upgrading from 4.4.1.2 release to 4.4.2.2 release did not resolve this bug.
